This Returns & Exchanges Policy explains how malvêtu handles return requests, exchange requests, wrong-size orders, damaged items, defective items, misprints, wrong items, and garment condition requirements.

We want the process to be clear before you place an order. Many malvêtu pieces are produced after order confirmation through professional production and fulfillment partners. For that reason, returns and exchanges are reviewed carefully according to the product condition, reason for return, order status, destination, and applicable consumer law.

If there is an issue with your order, contact us before wearing, washing, altering, or returning the item.

2. The important point

Returns and exchanges are handled according to the reason for the request.

A return request may involve:

  • wrong size selected by the customer
  • change of mind
  • wrong item received
  • damaged item
  • defective item
  • misprint
  • delivery issue
  • color or appearance concern
  • garment condition concern
  • statutory consumer rights

Items produced after order confirmation require careful handling because each order may enter production quickly and may be prepared specifically for that customer order.

Nothing in this policy limits statutory rights that cannot legally be limited.

3. Return window

For eligible returns, contact customer care within 14 days after delivery.

Do not send items back without contacting customer care first. Unapproved returns may be delayed, refused, lost, or unable to be matched to your order.

4. Exchange window

For eligible exchanges, contact customer care within 14 days after delivery.

Because many malvêtu pieces are produced after order confirmation, exchanges are reviewed before approval.

5. Condition of returned items

To be eligible for a return or exchange under our standard policy, the item must usually be:

  • unworn
  • unwashed
  • unaltered
  • free from stains
  • free from odors
  • free from marks
  • free from damage caused after delivery
  • returned with tags, labels, packaging, or included materials where supplied
  • in a condition suitable for inspection

Items that have been worn, washed, altered, damaged through use, exposed to fragrance, stained, or handled in a way that prevents fair inspection may be refused for return or exchange unless applicable law requires otherwise.

6. Items that may not qualify for discretionary return

A discretionary return or exchange may be refused where the item is:

  • worn
  • washed
  • altered
  • damaged after delivery
  • stained
  • marked
  • affected by odor
  • missing original labels, tags, or packaging where supplied
  • returned outside the return window
  • returned without approval
  • affected by improper care
  • damaged by washing, drying, ironing, storage, or handling
  • purchased through unauthorized resale
  • not purchased from malvetu.com or an official malvêtu channel

This does not affect rights that cannot legally be limited.

7. Wrong size selected by the customer

Customers are responsible for reviewing the Size Guide before placing an order.

Because sizing is one of the most common reasons for apparel returns, we strongly recommend checking the product measurements carefully before purchase.

Wrong-size requests are reviewed according to product condition, product availability, destination, and applicable law.

A wrong size selected by the customer may not qualify for a free exchange, free return, or free replacement unless required by applicable law or unless the item received was incorrect, damaged, defective, misprinted, or materially different from what was ordered.

8. Fit expectations

malvêtu apparel may be designed with specific fit intentions, including oversized, relaxed, structured, or other fashion-led silhouettes.

Fit can vary depending on:

  • garment cut
  • fabric behavior
  • product style
  • measurement method
  • body shape
  • personal preference
  • styling intention

A fit preference or size choice does not automatically mean a product is defective.

If the item received is the size ordered and matches the product description, wrong-size or fit-preference exchanges are handled under the standard exchange process and may not qualify for free return shipping.

9. Damaged items

If your item arrives damaged, contact us as soon as possible.

Please do not wear, wash, repair, alter, or discard the item before contacting us.

We will review the claim and, where appropriate, may offer a replacement, exchange, refund, or another remedy according to our policies and applicable law.

10. Defective items

A defect may include an issue with construction, print, material, or finish that goes beyond normal variation or reasonable garment tolerance.

We will review the issue carefully.

11. Misprints

If you believe your item was misprinted, contact customer care.

  • close-up photos of the issue
  • brief description of the concern

Print placement, scale, color, and appearance may vary slightly between garments, screens, product photography, and production processes.

A slight variation does not automatically mean the item is misprinted.

If the print is materially incorrect, damaged, defective, or different from what was ordered, we will review the claim and determine the appropriate resolution.

12. Wrong item received

If you received the wrong item, wrong size, wrong color, or wrong product, contact:

If the wrong item was sent, malvêtu will review the claim and, where appropriate, arrange a replacement, exchange, refund, or another remedy.

13. Color, garment, and print variation

Product images are prepared with care, yet some variation can occur.

Variation may involve:

  • screen color differences
  • lighting in product photography
  • fabric tone
  • garment finish
  • print placement
  • print scale
  • print texture
  • stitching details
  • measurement tolerance
  • natural apparel production variation

These differences do not automatically mean the item is defective.

If the product is materially different from what you ordered, contact customer care and we will review the issue.

14. Change of mind

Change-of-mind returns are reviewed under the standard return process.

For a change-of-mind return to be considered, the item must usually be unworn, unwashed, unaltered, and in its original condition.

Customer-paid return shipping may apply unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Because many malvêtu pieces are produced after order confirmation, change-of-mind returns may be reviewed more carefully than damaged, defective, misprinted, or wrong-item claims.

15. Worn or washed items

Please inspect your item before wearing or washing it.

If there is a visible issue, contact us first.

Items that have been worn, washed, altered, stained, damaged, or exposed to fragrance or odor may not qualify for discretionary return or exchange because they can no longer be reviewed in original condition.

If an issue appears only after careful first use or first wash, contact us with photos and a clear description. We will review the claim according to the circumstances, product care instructions, and applicable law.

16. Product care and return eligibility

Customers are responsible for following the care instructions provided with the garment or on our Product Care page.

Improper care may affect return or exchange eligibility.

This includes damage caused by:

  • hot washing where not recommended
  • tumble drying where not recommended
  • ironing directly over printed areas
  • bleach
  • harsh detergents
  • dry cleaning where unsuitable
  • rough handling
  • improper storage
  • excessive heat
  • washing with abrasive items

This does not limit rights that cannot legally be limited.

17. Return shipping

Return shipping responsibility depends on the reason for return and applicable law.

If the item is damaged, defective, misprinted, or wrong

Where the claim is approved, malvêtu may provide a replacement, refund, exchange, return instruction, or other remedy according to the case and applicable law.

If the return is for wrong size, fit preference, or change of mind

The customer may be responsible for return shipping costs unless applicable law requires otherwise or unless malvêtu confirms a different arrangement in writing.

If the return is international

International return shipping may involve customs forms, duties, taxes, carrier fees, or import handling fees. The customer may be responsible for those costs unless applicable law requires otherwise or unless the issue was caused by an approved malvêtu error.

18. Return address

Do not send returns to the legal business address unless malvêtu tells you to do so in writing.

Return destinations may vary depending on product type, destination, fulfillment route, and the nature of the return.

After your return request is reviewed, customer care will provide the appropriate return instructions where a return is approved.

Unapproved returns, returns sent to the wrong address, or returns sent without order identification may be delayed, refused, lost, or unable to be processed.

19. Inspection process

Returned items may be inspected after arrival.

Inspection may review:

  • product identity
  • order number
  • item condition
  • signs of wear
  • washing or alteration
  • stains or odors
  • tags or labels
  • packaging
  • reported issue
  • photos submitted with the claim

If the return is approved after inspection, we will proceed with the confirmed resolution.

If the return is rejected after inspection, customer care will explain the reason where appropriate.

20. Exchanges

If an exchange is approved, the replacement item may be produced and fulfilled after the return is received, inspected, or otherwise approved.

Exchange availability may depend on:

  • size availability
  • color availability
  • destination
  • production route
  • shipping feasibility
  • original item condition
  • reason for exchange

If an exchange is unavailable, malvêtu may offer a refund, store credit where available, or another appropriate remedy according to the case and applicable law.

21. Refunds connected to returns

Refunds connected to returns are handled under our Refund Policy.

A refund may be issued only after:

  • the return request is approved
  • the item is received, where return is required
  • the item is inspected, where inspection is required
  • the claim is confirmed, where photos or evidence are used
  • applicable legal obligations are reviewed

Refunds are usually issued to the original payment method where possible.

Payment methods may include:

  • Shopify Payments
  • PayPal

Refund timing depends on the payment provider, bank, card issuer, or PayPal account.

22. Original shipping charges

Original shipping charges may not be refundable for discretionary returns, wrong-size returns, fit preference, or change-of-mind returns unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Where a product is damaged, defective, misprinted, wrong, or legally entitled to a remedy, shipping costs will be reviewed according to the case and applicable law.

23. Customs, duties, and international returns

International returns may involve customs duties, taxes, VAT, GST, carrier handling fees, brokerage fees, or local import charges.

Customers are responsible for completing required return documents accurately.

If a return is delayed, rejected, abandoned, or charged because of incomplete customs documents, unpaid fees, incorrect declaration, or carrier issue, the return process may be delayed.

Where duties, taxes, or carrier fees are connected to a discretionary return, those costs may be the customer’s responsibility unless applicable law requires otherwise.

24. Sale items and promotions

Items purchased with a discount code, promotion, launch offer, or sale price are reviewed under the same return and exchange standards unless a specific promotion states additional conditions.

Any promotion-specific condition will always remain subject to statutory rights that cannot legally be limited.

We do not use blanket “no refund” language for faulty, defective, misdescribed, damaged, or wrong items.

25. Gift cards

If malvêtu offers gift cards in the future, gift card purchases may be subject to separate gift card terms.

Gift cards may not be returnable or refundable except where required by applicable law.

26. Unauthorized resale purchases

This policy applies to purchases made directly from malvetu.com or official malvêtu sales channels.

If you purchased an item through an unauthorized reseller, marketplace seller, private resale listing, imitation store, or third-party account, malvêtu may be unable to verify the order, payment, product condition, authenticity, or return eligibility.

For unauthorized resale purchases, contact the seller or platform where the item was purchased.

27. Counterfeit or imitation products

malvêtu does not accept returns, exchanges, or refund requests for counterfeit, imitation, altered, or unauthorized products.

28. Chargebacks and payment disputes

If you have an issue with an order, contact customer care first so we can review it properly.

Opening a chargeback or payment dispute before contacting us may delay resolution.

Where a chargeback or dispute is opened, malvêtu may provide order records, customer communications, tracking information, delivery records, product photos, policy records, and other relevant evidence to Shopify Payments, PayPal, payment providers, banks, carriers, fraud-prevention tools, legal advisers, or authorities where appropriate.

31. Statutory consumer rights

Nothing in this Returns & Exchanges Policy limits statutory rights that cannot legally be limited.

Customers in different countries, states, provinces, or territories may have mandatory rights relating to defective goods, misdescribed goods, damaged goods, delivery problems, cancellations, refunds, repairs, replacements, or other consumer protections.

Where this policy conflicts with mandatory consumer protection law, the mandatory law will apply.
